Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using RoadCadet (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License to Use the App

Beacon Light Investments grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use RoadCadet on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to the App Store's or Google Play's applicable usage rules.

3. Your Content

Everything you enter into RoadCadet — driver profiles, drives, skill ratings, and the driving agreement and its signatures — is yours. It's stored locally on your device and, if you choose to enable iCloud Sync (iPhone/iPad only), copied to your own private iCloud account. We do not access, host, or claim any ownership over your content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Purchases

RoadCadet offers a free tier and a single, one-time "RoadCadet Pro" purchase that unlocks unlimited driver profiles, watermark-free PDF export, the full skills mastery matrix, and driving-agreement signing. This is not a subscription and does not auto-renew or recur. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed entirely by the App Store's or Google Play's own refund policies — Beacon Light Investments does not process payments or refunds directly. Logging, editing, deleting, and exporting (CSV or backup file) your own data is never a paid feature, regardless of tier.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose.

6. Not a Legal or Licensing Authority

RoadCadet is an informational logging tool, not a legal authority on driver's licensing requirements. State hour, night-hour, and permit holding-period figures shown in the App are bundled defaults that you can edit, and may not reflect your exact state's current rules, license class, or any recent regulatory change. Acceptance of any log, PDF export, or driving agreement generated by the App is always at the sole discretion of the licensing authority you deal with. You are solely responsible for confirming current requirements with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles or equivalent authority before relying on the App's output for a road test or any official purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon Light Investments shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any loss of data stored on your device, or any consequence of a licensing authority declining to accept a log produced by the App.

9. Changes to the App or These Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If these Terms change materially, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Data already stored locally on your device or in your own iCloud remains yours; use "Delete All My Data" in Settings to remove it.
